BOSTON — The Boston Free Library, in conjunction with Erie County Legislator John Mills, held its second annual hot dog roast fundraiser on June 14.

Mills said that the library fundraisers, which he hosts, all over Erie County, are averaging $1,000, per location. The total money raised, during the years holding these events, is approaching $40,000.

“Our libraries need to survive,” Mills said. “I think they’re someplace to go, to use the computers and check out books and they’re just a nice place to be.”

Mills added that the library fundraisers will continue in Erie County, for as long as he is a legislator.

“It’s really taken off,” Mills said, about the fundraiser. “It’s like an event, now.”
