WEST VALLEY — After they returned to school, following the Thanksgiving break, students in Michael Baronich’s and Deb Fenn’s West Valley Central School International Connections Club organized a school-wide food drive.

For four weeks, elementary and high school homerooms collected nonperishable food items, to be sent to the West Valley Food Pantry.

Classes competed, to bring in the most food.

Leanna Pfeffer’s kindergarten class and Craig Stiller’s homeroom brought in the most food, earning them breakfast.

On Dec. 22, Baronich and a group of students brought more than 25 boxes of food to the food pantry, located on Fox Valley Road in Ashford.

The students helped deliver more than 550 items of food to the pantry.

The West Valley food pantry has been run by Bud and Mary Lou Williams of West Valley, for more than 30 years.
