SPRINGVILLE — Cindy Fisher, vice president of the Cordelian Club of Springville, represented the 35 club members by presenting a check contributing to the Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Physical Therapy equipment fund.

The $4,900 gift was accepted by hospital CEO Nils Gunnersen, who said he is grateful for the strong community financial support.

“We do our best daily to provide quality services for our neighbors,” noted Gunnersen.

“Having a strong financial base of support from so many areas makes it possible for us to continue in our mission to keep healthcare local.”

Fisher said the funds were raised at the March 2013 spring dance.

Physical Therapy Director Mary Lou Wright said the funds will be designated for the replacement of the short wave diathermy machine. The Springville Lions Club also contributed toward the purchase.

The Cordelian Club has a long history of supporting Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and has contributed more than $25,000, over the last 5 years, toward various projects and equipment.

Fisher said the Cordelian Club women volunteer because they believe in the value of having a local hospital and know the money raised goes to direct patient care.
