COLDEN — The center of Colden currently features the Colden community farmer’s market, for the second year, in a row.
Vendors gathered, on June 8, to offer fresh food, plants and herbs, to the public. The event runs from May – October, on Supervisor Road.
Gabriel’s Closet Thrift Shop was also open to the public, while the Colden Bread of Life Outreach Center accepted donations. Approximately 60 families are fed, from the proceeds.
Executive Director of the Bread of Life Outreach Center Pat Thoman was on hand, to organize the event. She is also the town’s executive board member.
THINKING OF YOU — Linda Harber stands by her display of greeting cards.
Linda Harber, a featured vendor, was also in attendance and provided shoppers the opportunity to purchase her display of greeting cards.
SING ME A SONG — Last week’s featured band, The Porcelain Train, plays for market-goers.
The Porcelain Train added atmosphere for the nearby crowd.
A different musical group and a hot dog sale are featured at each farmers market.
TAG SALE — Visitors shop the merchandise offered in Gabriel’s Closet Thrift Store.
The Gabriel’s Closet Thrift Store is also open to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; Thursdays, from 3 – 6 p.m. and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Call the store at 941-3550.
The farmers market will welcome community members to browse local wares, every Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., through the end of September. For more information about the market, call 863-9892.
