Springville Concord Elder Network speaker series returns

SPRINGVILLE — According to Springville Concord Elder Network Coordinator Virginia Krebs, the fall SCENe speaker series will begin Thursday, Sept. 27.

Krebs said that this fall’s speaker series “offers college-level learning in a friendly group setting. Speakers will leave time for questions and discussion. SCENe is able to offer it free to the public because of the willingness of the speakers to share their knowledge, assistance from the town, Healthy Community Alliance Inc. and the generosity of our supporters.”

Presentations will be held from 1 – 2 p.m. on select Thursdays in the Concord Town Hall auditorium on Franklin Street in Springville.

Speaker presentations will take place on the following dates:

– Sept. 27: “Mafia: Organized Crime Syndicate” by Lee Coppola Esq., educator, journalist and federal prosecutor.

– Oct. 4: “ The War of 1812 Revealed” by retired New York State University at Buffalo Professor Jerry Spinley.

– Oct. 11: “A Magical Mystery Tour: A Quick Trip Through the Human Body” by Erie Community College Biology Professor Paul Tenser.

– Oct. 25: “Clutterbusters” by Anita Domes, professional organizer.

There is no cost to attend the programs, which are open to area seniors. For more information, call the SCENe resource line at 592-7599.
