SPRINGVILLE — Cattaraugus County Bank will be offering free coin appraisals, courtesy of HCC Inc., a firm of numismatists. The appraisals will take place at the Springville branch on July 9 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
According to HCC, the silver, gold and platinum bullion market is nearing all-time highs, with silver dimes, quarters and half dollars, along with Gold American Eagles, Gold Canadian Maple Leafs, Krugerrands, Morgan and Peace Dollars, Indian Pennies and commemorative coins, in demand. HCC will purchase coins at the appraised value, if so desired.
“Coin appraisal days have been very successful in the past, at CCB. We are always amazed at the turnout,” said Dawn Tocha, CCB assistant vice president and retail manager. “We knew some of our customers were coin collectors, but had no idea how many. I invite the public to visit CCB.”
