EAST CONCORD — The Fireside Inn of Concord featured Pontiacs in their 14th cruise night of the season on Aug. 14. The cruise finale was held on Aug. 28, and the fall leaf cruise will be forthcoming, this October.
J.C. Sepull, co-owner of the restaurant, said, of the weekly event, “I have always been partial to our Pontiac Tribal gathering night, as I happen to be the proud owner of a 1966 Pontiac GTO. It is completely stock, with original parts.
“Our 10th season of cruise night is coming to a close,” added Sepull. “We especially want to thank Castle Car Care products, for their wonderful support of this event.
“We are also happy to announce that our 50/50 raffle tickets – in aid of the Boys & Girls Club of Springville – have raised more than $2,000, this season. I would also like to give credit to the president of the Boys & Girls Club, Margaret Chapman, for facilitating our 50/50 raffle, and her added support of our cause.”
Sepull said that the fact that the cruise is held on a grass lawn, instead of a parking lot, is unique.
“We have always featured a different car class, every week, and what makes this even more special is that our drivers who are competing in the show also have the ability to vote on winning vehicles. We not only feature different cars each week, but we also have a core group of enthusiasts who always venture back to the Fireside, as any car class, year or make can attend the show,” he explained.
“The drivers and attendees can also vote on whom they believe are the overall, best winners of the show, regardless of what car class is featured, that week. Everyone knows each other here and we have built great friendships; it is a great environment to be a part of.”
The Fall Leaf Cruise will take place at peak leaf time, according to Sepull.
“Participants will follow a predetermined cruise map, through the scenic roads of the Southern Tier and enjoy dinner at the Fireside, afterwards,” he explained. “We will also honor some of the feature winners and champion’s points from the cruise season, at the end of the evening.”
Tickets must be purchased in advance from Fireside Inn, during business hours, or with a credit card by calling 592-9979 For more information about the cruises or additional events visit www.firesideinnwny.com.
