HELPING OUR KIDS — Kathy Pasinski, left, and Laura Gunnells of Cheap Chollies are shown presenting Boys & Girls Club Director Mike Basehart (center) with a check for $5,000 to sponsor the kitchen at the new Boys & Girls Club of Springville clubhouse, on Maple Avenue.
Cheap Chollies Liquors and Wines and its employees recently presented a donation for the new Boys & Girls Club clubhouse on Maple Avenue. Cheap Chollies provided the funds to sponsor the club’s kitchen and to help speed up the opening date for the facility.
“If all goes according to schedule, the club should be open for Springville youth early next month,” said Club Director Mike Basehart. “The community has really stepped up and supported the building project, through numerous individual donations of money, materials and manpower.”
Laura Gunnells of Cheap Chollies said, “We are encouraging other area businesses to consider funding a room, so we can have a safe place for our kids to go every day after school.”
Businesses interested in supporting a room at the new clubhouse can contact Basehart at 628-1994.
