Groups of National Junior Honor Society members of Springville Middle School worked at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home on The Day of Caring.
Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and the Jennie B. Nursing Home received some love at the hands of Springville-Griffith Institute Middle Schoolers as part of S-GI’s Day of Caring.
On June 13, members of the National Junior Honor Society donated their time and hard work to beautify the landscaping around BCH and Jennie B. Nursing. Members of the S-GI staff, Karen Reynolds, Christiane Canfield, Ed Bates and Mike Stefan expressed their pride to the hardwork the students put in for a full day.
Residents, workers and patients were wowed at the change in the landscape, thanks to the students. Some even cried tears of joy, but all smiled after they saw the work in the courtyard behind Jennie B. Nursing.
Residents and visitors of Jennie B. Nursing Home now have the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful landscaping.
BCH sent letters of appreciation to the National Junior Honor Society for the work the students did.
The NJHS chapter gives back to the community every year and are happy they choose to give back to BCH and Jennie B. Nursing home.
