We’re still your local paper!
Thursday November 3, 2011 | By:Jessie Owen, Journal editor

It’s been more than 146 years since the Lowe family decided to embark on the adventure that would become the Springville Journal.
This Springville family started a publication that has become a staple in the community, something we hope you and your loved ones still look forward to reading every week. We’ve never missed an edition, and we hope we never do.
During the nearly 150 years that the Journal has been in print, it has changed hands a few times - but it has only improved in quality. We still continue to offer extensive, affordable access to local news, sports and other information, in our print publication, online at www.springvillejournal.com, on Facebook and Twitter.
Each employee who fills a seat here at the Journal lives in the surrounding community. We each shop local, interact with our neighbors and bring a unique point of view to the table. We listen to the information you - our readers - give us regarding what you like and don’t like about what we have to offer, and we constantly strive to improve the paper. Because it’s your local paper and we want you to be involved.
We do not want to be static, and we know there is always room to improve. That is why there are occasional changes in our print and online offerings. We hope these only increase the quality of the Journal and eagerly anticipate what the future has to offer.
Soon to come is something we look forward to every year: the Journal’s subscription sale blowout on Nov. 25. This is the perfect opportunity to renew your subscription, or, for those who do not already subscribe to our paper or want it sent to a friend or loved one, get a new one. Journal subscriptions will be offered that day at greatly-reduced prices - make sure to stop in to our office at 41 East Main St. between 9 a.m. and noon to take advantage of this offer.
Look for more information on the subscription sale blowout in upcoming editions of the Journal and PennySaver. Also on that day, we will be holding a drawing for tickets to the Hamburg Fairgrounds’ Festival of Lights.
Thank you for your continued support. Without you, we could not exist! We look forward to a continued relationship with all of our neighbors.
