SPRINGVILLE — Are you making that list and checking it twice? Your Christmas shopping list, that is.
The holidays are here, by hook or by crook, and even the notoriously last-minute shoppers should be getting their ideas together to make gift-opening fun and fabulous, for the whole family.
Before you jump in the car and make the drive to the mall or another big-box store, to spend your hard-earned cash, consider keeping the money in the community, by patronizing one of the many amazing businesses in our area.
Our local merchants really offer something for everyone, as one trip down Main Street can show you. To promote local commerce, the Springville Area Chamber of Commerce and many local stores are offering the community a special, holiday shopping experience.
This weekend, Nov. 23 and 24, A Very Merry Main Street officially kicked off the Christmas shopping season. Not only may shoppers peruse the great holiday deals offered at more than 20 local stores – both those along Main Street and those gathered to display their wares in the Concord Town Hall – but one lucky winner will also waltz away from the festivities with a $500 cash prize.
The A Very Merry Main Street in-store specials and extended hours will continue until 4 p.m. on Saturday, but the fun times don’t have to end there.
The chamber of commerce’s Concord Country Christmas Shop Local Program, which encourages customers to make their holiday purchases at local stores, runs through the end of December and offers the chance to win a $200 prize.
Extend those holiday wishes and support your friends and neighbors, who work hard running their businesses, all year round. There has never been a better excuse to go shopping! Happy holidays, everyone.
