SPRINGVILLE — The Springville Concord Elder Network and Love, INC of Springville are teaming up to offer Christmas shoppers a place to visit with Santa and have their holiday purchases wrapped.

SCENe Coordinator Ginny Krebs and Love INC Director Wendy Cocca said that they hope people will choose to shop local, this season.

Krebs said, “Instead of a mad dash down crowded aisles, jostling for so-called bargains, imagine a stroll down an historic Main Street, decked out in twinkling lights, holiday wreaths with specialty stores, galleries, salons, cafes and restaurants beckoning.”

The Love INC community room at 64 East Main St. will be open from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23. SCENe and Love INC staff members and volunteers will host the events.

Santa Claus will be on hand for photos, from noon –2 p.m. Krebs invited seniors to “come and have your picture with Santa, to send as a surprise to your grandchildren.”

Cocca said that the holiday open house will include a gift-wrapping station, coffee and tea, door prizes and refreshments.

Members of the Springville Flute Ensemble will perform, during the event. “This is a day to express our appreciation to the community for their support,” Cocca said. “We hope they will stop in and say hello.”
