Arts Center looking for input on Cafe

SPRINGVILLE—The Springville Center for the Arts will be hosting a community input session on Tuesday, June 17 for their Art’s Cafe project.

The Center is looking for feedback on everything from the kind of coffee that will be served to the couches customers will sit in to the types of programs that will be available.

“This is a community project,” said Springville Center for the Arts Executive Director Seth Wochensky. “We want them to be very involved.”

The Springville Center for the Arts acquired the property at 5 East Main St. in 2012, stabilized it in 2013 and are now ready to begin implementing their plans for the space. In addition to the cafe, the space will house performance space, display areas, artists residences, workshop spaces with a pottery studio and a green roof that will grow herbs and vegetables for the cafe and be open to the public.

The community input session will showcase the current plans and welcome feedback and ideas for other plans. The session will be held Tuesday, June 17 at the Mongerson Theater, located at 37 North Buffalo St., at 7 p.m.
