Winter academy at Bensley Center

SPRINGVILLE — The Lucy Bensley Genealogy Library in Springville will hold a “Winter Doldrums Academy” – a pair of courses in genealogical and historical research – during the month of February.

The first course will be “Discovering your family history” and will use participants’ personal knowledge, along with traditional research sources, to delve into their family histories. Participants will learn how to access online resources and how to preserve family documents.

The first course will be held on three nights, from Feb. 4-6, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. There is a fee for registration, which includes the price of a starter kit. Limited space is available.

The second course will focus on researching the history of participants’ houses, using a variety of resources. The course will be held on Feb. 11, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. There is a fee for registration.

Both courses will be held at the The Lucy Bensley Genealogy Library, located at 23 North Buffalo St. in Springville. To register, call the Lucy Bensley Center at 592-0094.
