See Santa at SCENe open house

SPRINGVILLE — Wendy Cocca, director of Love In The Name of Christ, announced that the organization is partnering with the Springville Concord Elder Network to hold a holiday open house, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Nov. 29.

“We chose this day to support our downtown merchants and encourage shoppers to check out all the unique gifts that the shops have to offer. The newly published Love INC Cookbook will be available, too,” Cocca said.

Located at 62-64 East Main St. in Springville, Love INC is a clearing house ministry of member churches. Volunteers screen clients and help assess all of their financial, emotional and spiritual needs. At this time of year, Love INC volunteers are working on the “Warm the Children Fund,” to provide winter clothing to the children of financially stressed families.

Love INC also supports the mission of SCENe, to address the needs of older residents. The SCENe office is located in the Love INC building. SCENe Coordinator Ginny Krebs said, “This is our second joint holiday open house and last year, we had many people stop in to say hello, enjoy a hot cup of coffee and refreshments.”

Krebs noted that Santa Claus will visit from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and “He welcomes boys and girls of every age to have their picture taken with him.” Musical acts performing will include the “Flute Ensemble” and “Chimetime.” Everyone who stops in will get a chance to win a holiday gift basket, donated by SCENe.
