Area Fourth of July celebrations

SPRINGVILLE — Many local municipalities are planning Fourth of July celebrations, on either the weekend before or the day of July 4.

Village of Springville and town of Concord
The village of Springville will host a softball game between Wal-Mart and village of Springville employees, starting at 10 a.m. at Concord Community Park, located on North Buffalo Road in Springville.

Starting at 5 p.m., food and live entertainment will be available until dusk, when a fireworks display will kick off.

Town of Collins
On Saturday, June 29, the town of Collins will host its third annual “Liberty Fest” in the Collins Town Park, from 5 – 10 p.m.

A list of events are as follows: Summer recreation signups, 5 – 6 p.m.; face painting, 5 – 6; car show, 5 – 7; theme basket auction, 5 – 8; concession stand, 5 – 9; ice cream truck, 5 – 9:30; 16U girls softball game between Collins Center and Springville, 5:45; street dance with Paul Zittel and Pure Country, 7 – 9:30; Miss Liberty Contest, 8; world’s largest volleyball game, 8 and a fireworks show, courtesy of Skylighters of NY, at approximately 9:45.

Town of Boston

The town of Boston will hold its Fourth of July celebration in the Boston Town Park, located at 8500 Boston State Road. The Boston Town Band will perform at 8 p.m. and a fireworks display will begin at 10. Attendees are asked to bring their own coolers, lawn chairs and blankets.
