SPRINGVILLE — A benefit will be held on Aug. 10 for Clarence Belz of Springville. He has stage 4 stomach and esophageal cancer and mounting medical bills. His late wife, Mary Ann, had COPD and diabetes and also had high medical bills.
The Belz family has lived in Springville for more than 45 years. He is a United States Army veteran, a retired fireman and retired from the Ford plant 12 years ago.
Mary Ann Belz had been ill, for several years, before passing away recently. Clarence Belz took care of her, fixed meals and did most of the household chores. He was diagnosed in April with stage 4 esophageal and stomach cancer, and was forced to take care of his wife and his own medical needs, as well.
The benefit will be held at the Springville Travelers Clubhouse, located at 14340 South Cascade Dr., Springville, from 1 – 6 p.m.
There will be a basket raffle, door prize and 50/50 raffles. The cost of the tickets includes draft beer, soft drinks, food and music.
