Hunter benefit to be held Oct. 26

SPRINGVILLE — Pete Hunter, a lifelong resident of Springville, self-employed excavator and a Navy veteran, was recently diagnosed with esophageal and lung cancer. He has been undergoing treatments at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and expects to undergo surgery in the coming months.
Hunter has also undergone several unrelated medical procedures in 2012.
A benefit has been planned to help the family with medical and household bills.
The fund-raiser will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, at the American Legion Post 109, Zoar Valley Road, Springville, from 1-6 p.m.
Monetary donations; items for the live auction, such as baskets, gift certificates or other items; door prize items such as hats, shirts sweatshirts, candles, etc.; food; paper products; plastic silverware and napkins are all acceptable donations.
