‘The Drawer Boy’ auditions at the center for the arts

SPRINGVILLE — Auditions for the Springville Center for the Arts’ production of Michael Healey’s “The Drawer Boy” will be held at the art center’s Carol Mongerson Theater at 7 p.m. on Aug. 5 – 7.

Roles for two males in their 50s and one male in his 20s are available. SCA Executive Director Seth Wochensky said that auditioners will be asked to read or speak their own choice of a 30 – 60-second section of a poem or dramatic passage, which presents an emotional challenge or message, and to participate in a cold reading, from the play.

This is the first production in the 2013 – 14 Springville Players season. Director Don Wesley and co-producers Karn and Sue Sorensen and Penny Wesley will present this award-winning drama on Oct. 24 – 27 and Nov. 1 – 3.

The Carol Mongerson Theater is located at 37 North Buffalo St. in Springville. For more information, or to see a script, call 592-9038 or visit www.springvillearts.org.
