Auditions set at SCA for new show

SPRINGVILLE — Springville Center for the Arts will host auditions for “Loose Lips Sink Ships,” a musical set in the pre-World War II era. Originally produced by American Folklore Theater, the team that brought the SCA sold-out hit “Guys on Ice,” and written by Jacinda Duffin and Laurie Flanigan Hegge, Loose Lips follows a group of young men and women through the events at the start of the war and, in particular, in the factories which build warships in Minnesota.

Auditions will take place on March 31 and April 1 at 7 p.m. at the Mongerson Theater at Springville Center for the Arts, located at 37 North Buffalo St. The show will cast a variety of men and women of service age. One male and one female of high school age are also sought.

Actors should come with any song prepared and will read from the script. Production dates run from May 22-June 1. Call 592-9038, for more information.
