Flip your fins at the Little Mermaid Jr.

SPRINGVILLE — Springville theater-goers can journey “under the sea” with Ariel and her aquatic friends, during the Springville-Griffith Institute middle school’s performance of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.,” adapted from Disney’s 2008 Broadway production.

In an underwater kingdom, the young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home – and her fins – behind and live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice he’s been seeking.

With a cast of more than 50 S-GI middle schoolers, this show features Anna Lawton as Ariel, Robert Clark as Prince Eric, Amanda Maybray as Ursula, Zach Martin as Triton, Topher Elkins as Flounder, Connor Judkawiecz as Sebastian, Maddy Priester as Scuttle, Mallory Robel and Lauryn Watkins as Flotsam and Jetsam, and Alex Francisco as Grimsby.

The curtain will rise on Dec. 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. in the high school’s Lyle G. Palmer Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased online at
