SPRINGVILLE — Finger-style and harp-guitarist Muriel Anderson will take the stage at the Springville Center for the Arts on Oct. 11 at 8 p.m.
Anderson is the first woman to have won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship and has recorded more than a dozen CDs.
She performs in the United States, Europe and across the world, and is the host of Muriel Anderson’s All Star Guitar Night® and founder of the Music for Life Alliance charity.
The musician has received attention for her work in folk, classical, jazz, bluegrass and international music genres.
Anderson cites a variety of musical styles, from lyrical choir and marching band music, to Japanese koto, the Beatles and Rodrigo’s “Concierto de Aranjuez” as sources for her repertoire.
Anderson will present a master class at Arts Underground, located at 66 East Main St. in Springville, on Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. Call 592-9038 for more information or to register. There is a fee for participation.
