The cast of “Glengarry Glen Ross”
SPRINGVILLE — The Southtowns Regional Actors Workshop will present Glengarry Glen Ross, David Mamet’s play about desperate real estate salesmen, June 13 – 15 at Springville Center for the Arts and June 21 – 23 at Alleyway Theater in Buffalo.
The play takes place during two days in the lives of four Chicago real estate agents who are prepared to engage in any number of unethical, illegal acts—from lies and flattery to bribery, threats, intimidation and burglary—to sell undesirable real estate to unwitting prospective buyers.
The play draws partly on Mamet’s experiences in a Chicago real estate office, where he worked briefly in the late 1960s. The title of the play comes from the names of two of the real estate developments, Glengarry Highlands and Glen Ross Farms, being peddled by the salesmen characters.
Mamet won the Pulitzer Prize in 1984 for the script.
Directed by Ronald Leonardi, the cast includes Scott Hill as Shelly Levene, Dan Delluomo as John Williamson, Rick Manzone as Dave Moss, Patricia Maxwell as George Aaranow, Matt Boyle as Richard Roma, Rick Sweet as James Lingk, and Dan Greer as Baylen.
Glengarry Glen Ross is presented through an arrangement with Samuel French Inc. Due to profane language, no unaccompanied minors will be admitted.
Performances will run June 13 – 15 at 8:30 p.m. at the Carol Mongerson Theater at the Springville Center for the Arts, 37 North Buffalo St. in Springville. Tickets are available for general, student and senior prices.
