STAR LIGHT, STAR BRIGHT — These stars, made out of $5 bills by Lifetree Cafe participants, were given to unsuspecting workers, during the holiday season. Photo submitted by Stan Handzlik.
SPRINGVILLE — Recent participants at a Lifetree Cafe conversation in Springville participated in a discussion called “Rekindling the Joy of Christmas.”
Part of the evening included making origami stars from dollar bills that would be gifted to various people in the community, who had to work on Christmas Day.
Lifetree Café Springville volunteers brought the stars to workers in a local nursing home, as well as a nursing station at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, the emergency room and a local gas station.
Rich Lockwood, a regular at Lifetree Cafe said, “This was one of the most joyful things that I did of the entire season. I want to do it every year.” Others noticed that the recipients were surprised that someone who didn’t know them would bring them a gift.
Interested parties can check out the Lifetree Cafe Springville page on Facebook or visit www.lifetreecafe.com
