Monday March 25, 2013 | By:Press Release |
SPRINGVILLE — The screening for children who are eligible to enter kindergarten in September is currently being scheduled at both Springville Elementary School and Colden Elementary School.
Parents of children who are residents of Springville-Griffith Institute Central School District and will be eligible for kindergarten next September may complete an application form, available from the school district, and return that document to the closest S-GI elementary school, by March 29.
To be eligible for kindergarten next September, children must have turned 5 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2013. Birth certificates and immunization records must be presented, at the time of screening. Once this form has been received and processed, parents will receive information about children’s screening appointments.
Parents of children who will be attending kindergarten at a school other than Colden Elementary or Springville Elementary may contact CES representative Jan Grzeskiewicz at 941-5218 or SES representative Crystal Sopko at 592-3261.
Census information will help the district to allocate the necessary resources, for the upcoming school year, and clarify each child’s enrollment.
Registration will be held on May 8 and screenings will be held on May 14, 15, 16 and 17.
