SITTING PRETTY — Eleven of these flower boxes were built by a Springville Boy Scout and then placed throughout the village of Gowanda.
SPRINGVILLE — Eagle Scout candidate Jordan Sanderson of Boy Scout Troop 524 in Springville recently completed his project: to build and distribute 11 flower boxes, throughout the village of Gowanda.
These boxes replaced some of the barrels that were previously used and those that were damaged, during the flood of 2009.
Sanderson worked with the village’s beautification committee and local business owners, to finish his endeavor.
FOR THE COMMUNITY — Pictured are those who worked on the Gowanda flower boxes, mid-production. The 11 creations may now be seen, throughout the village.
Local businesses that provided assistance included Gernatt Gravel, McCormack’s Hardware, Garden Gate Greenhouse, Crawford Door, NJ Construction, Olympia, S&S Taxidermy, S&H Mechanical Services, Fort’s Shop ‘n Save, Wal-Mart, Valley Pharmacy, Cards & More, Gui’s Lumber, Jesse’s Toy Box, Rob’s Affordable Tires III and Valu Home Center.
