SPRINGVILLE — The Boys & Girls Club of Springville held a “2 Pack-A-Backpack” event at the Springville Wal-Mart on Aug. 16.
Wal-Mart of Springville donated $1,000 worth of backpacks and school supplies to the Boys & Girls Club. All proceeds from the event will be distributed to local kids, in preparation for the upcoming school year.
Local residents contributed to the event by purchasing school supplies at the store and donating them back to the Boys & Girls Club, for distribution. Monetary donations were also received and will be used to purchase school supplies, throughout the school year.
“The Boys & Girls Club would like to thank all the volunteers that participated in ‘2 Pack-A-Backpack,’ ” said Andy Bobseine, executive director of the club.
“Everyone who helped out made the event a success. We’d also like to thank Wal-Mart, for all of their help and support, as well as all of the residents that donated supplies,” he added.
The Boys & Girls Club of Springville’s stated mission is to inspire and enable area youths to realize their full potential as productive, respectful and responsible, through active participation at the club.
