SPRINGVILLE — Springville Middle School Where Everybody Belongs Leaders welcomed incoming sixth-graders on Aug. 28. Prior to that day, incoming eighth graders spent two days training for the WEB orientation program.
They learned about what it means to serve as positive role models, motivators and teachers, who guide sixth-graders to discover what it takes to be successful in middle school.
On the 28th, sixth-graders were welcomed into the middle school gymnasium by the group of WEB Leaders. The students then participated in an interactive assembly, led by WEB coordinators Kristin Hughey, Amanda Valenti and Karen Polizzi.
After the assembly, sixth-grade students were split up into small groups that were each led by two WEB leaders. Various team-building activities and discussions about middle school then were hosted, in designated classrooms. The WEB leaders will continue to make connections with the sixth graders, throughout the year, during future social events and classroom presentations.
