Salem Lutheran holds successful Bible school

FUN AS WELL AS EDUCATIONAL — The children who attended Salem Lutheran Church vacation Bible school learned about the Bible.

Editor:

July 8th – 12th, 2013, Salem held its annual VBS program. This year, the theme was Go Tell it on the Mountain Where Jesus Christ is Lord.

We had 27 children from our family and the community join us, for our program. They spent the week on mountain tops, learning God’s word.

On Mount Sinai, they learned that “Love is the fulfilling of the law,” (Romans 13:10b).

On Mount Carmel, they learned that “I trust in You, O Lord; I say You are my God,” (Psalm 31:14).

On the Mount of Transfiguration, they learned that, “This is My Son, My Chosen One; listen to me,” (Luke 9:35).

On Golgotha, they learned that, “God gave us eternal life, and this life, in His Son,” (1 John 5:11).

On the last night, they learned that “Jesus says, ‘You will be My witnesses ... to the end of the earth,’” (Acts 1:8).

Thank you to the numerous volunteers, for sharing God’s word with the children and families that attended. Thank you to our community, for participating with us and bringing your children to our VBS program.
