The board of directors of the Springville-Griffith Community Education Foundation would like to express its gratitude and thanks for the support given by dozens of local businesses, individuals and organizations, as we held our successful, annual fundraising event on Nov. 10.
The auction items, sponsorships, contributions of time and talent and hard work of volunteers made it possible for our group to raise $15,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Springville, $15,000 for Springville Youth Inc. and at least $7,000 above our $30,000 goal. We will be able to fulfill our pledges to both groups, as promised, and continue our support of other local efforts, through grants and mini grants.
The support of the community made this possible. Our warmest thanks goes to an anonymous donor, who again supported our event at the platinum level.
Gold sponsors included Gernatt Asphalt Products Inc., Hannon Excavating/Hannon Site Development, Lamb and Webster, Peerless-Winsmith Inc. and Waste Management.
Silver sponsors included Agri-Business Insurance/Roland Lunser, Michael A. Benson/Attorney at Law, Emerling Ford, Harris Beach PLLC, Hodgson Russ LLP, McDonald’s of Springville, Seneca Steel Erectors and M&M Holland and Sons Propane.
Additional sponsors and friends included Aftermath Restoration, American Legion Post, Concord Post No. 431, Apple Dumplin’ Restaurant, Bank of Holland, Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Brierwood Childcare, Creighton, Johnsen & Giroux/Attorneys at Law, Clear Creek Land Surveyors, Concord Land Realty, Dr. Paul Connelly, Franklin Street Storage, Joseph Giroux Esq., Tom and Mary Irish, Jake’s Greenhouse and Christmas Trees, Gramco, Leslie Gibbin – attorney at law, Haddad Agency, Lehigh Construction, Pioneer Motorsport, R.A. Thank you, to Springville Health and Fitness, who offered a perfect venue for our event, along with continued support for our organization, as we planned the details.
Snacks and refreshments were generously provided by Julie’s Pizza, Papa Jake’s, The Office, Tops, Wegmans, Kiril’s and helpful, volunteer bakers.
Sincerest thanks to Erin Hannon and Barefoot Wines, who donated our delicious wine offerings, and to Faye Garbay, who volunteered, for another year, to organize our variety of basket items.
And thanks to our entertainment, the Springville-Griffith Institute High School Jazz Band and Springville Community Jazz Band, Tyler Bursee, who served as master of ceremonies, and Marlene Golabek, for photography services.
A complete list of donors and silent auction contributors is available on the foundation’s website at www.sgfound.org. We hope to see you all next year!
