Springville Field & Stream fishing contest benefits scholarship fund

Editor:
The fourth annual Springville Field & Stream fishing contest to benefit the scholarship fund was held June 23, 2012.

Those involved reported to the Field & Stream to enjoy all you could eat and drink eat feat from 2 – ? All participants received their specially-designed contest T-shirt and those that had fish to enter had them measured.

First place prizes were won by John Smithmeyer, walleye; Grant Vincent, bass; Joe Fallon, perch; Dave Petrosewitz, biggest other.

Special thanks go out to Mike “Yak” and Marcia for preparing the meats; Bonnie Tober for the potato salad and John Smithmeyer for his special beans. Coordinating it all was the “Kitchen General” Art Arnold and his right-hand assistant, Carol. The raffle prize was a shotgun, graciously donated by Barbie Benson. The contest provided an $800 contribution to the Springville Field & Stream Scholarship Fund.

Thanks, again, to all those who supported this year’s contest. Think about the great time that was had by all and, since there are only 100 tickets available, plan on buying yours early, next year. They are available beginning with the Springville Field & Stream February gun raffle.
