Flowers were not yours to take

Editor:

This note is to the person or persons who stole the hanging basket off my husband’s grave in the St. Aloysius Cemetery. My family and I just buried Gary two weeks ago and the flowers were one of his favorite ones.

When my husband was alive, he would have given you the shirt off his back if you needed it, but he can’t speak for himself so I’ll speak for him.

If you wanted or needed that basket of flowers, all you had to do was ask for them and I would have given them to you. It would have saved you the trouble of stealing them.

So I hope you enjoy them, and when you look at them please say a prayer for my husband.
