There is much to be said about the residents of Allegany and Cattaraugus counties, but what stands out the most is the incredible generosity that is consistently shown to one another.
The Cancer Services Program of Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties was the recipient of funds raised by various community groups between the two counties in the beginning of 2014. For the Main Streets Go Blue Campaign held in March, residents of Cuba Memorial Hospital and the Cattaraugus County Bank both donated funds.
The Cuba Chamber of Commerce, Cattaraugus County American Legion Auxiliary and the Whitesville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary all held 5K runs and the proceeds generated from them were also donated to the Cancer Services Program. We would also like to thank the Zonta Club, the Beth Todd Memorial through the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation and, lastly, to the many residents who donated funds in memory of Deborah Kula.
There are many men and women who are helped during an incredibly difficult and stressful time by the generosity of these organizations and individuals. That’s what sets the people of Allegany and Cattaraugus counties apart, the selfless, generous attitude we see over and over.
On behalf of the Cancer Services Program and Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties and the residents you have helped with these donations, we say thank you.
