Springville-Griffith Community Education holds successful fundraiser

We began thinking about a fundraiser, for the S-GI music and arts departments, last fall, and when the suggestion came forward, to help in the replacement of the 30-year-old curtains in the S-GI High School Auditorium, we knew that we could make it happen.
On behalf of the Springville-Griffith Community Education Foundation, we wanted to thank the volunteers, supporters and 150 guests who made our event, on Thursday, April 19, possible.
As it did for the foundation’s fall fundraiser, for the S-GI athletic department and football program, Papa Jake’s Restaurant provided a fantastic venue and a delicious steak dinner, for our guests and music program supporters.
Raffle items were generously provided by Scott Kearns, Linda Joseph, Michael and Mary Hannon/Hannon’s Excavating, Schichtel’s Nursery, Lowe’s, Mark’s Country Store, Wendel’s, Valu Home, True Value, Shamel Milling, Mary Irish, Julie’s Pizzeria, Main Street Pizza, Dr. Paul Connelly, Springville Center for the Arts and the S-GI Music Department.
Student musicians, from the S-GI High School, offered delightful entertainment, for our guests.
The purple and yellow cake, provided by Donna Rumfola, was almost too fantastic to cut into, with a collection of fondant figurines, complete with instruments’ “performing” on top of the cake “stage.”
And thanks to all this support, the foundation raised about $3,500, toward the replacement of the auditorium curtains.
Now, we look to plan our annual fall wine tasting and silent auction in November!
