Shot heard through New York

Editor:

The Springville Field and Stream Club held the first round of shots fired across New York State on Saturday, Jan. 11 at noon. There were about 175 shooters and many more observers, which brought the numbers to well over 250 concerned individuals who braved the early rains and showed up to help support our efforts to repeal the SAFE Act.

I have been a club member for over 45 years. I have helped out with the chicken barbecues, trap shoots, archery shoots, fishing contests, hunting contests, gun raffles, family picnics and many other events or fundraisers.

I have never been more proud to be a member of the Springville Field and Stream Club as I was on this day. We had all kinds of help from club members, family, friends and others.

Thanks to all and special thanks to Kevin Ploetz, Rich Kazmark, Jason Engel, Larry Ciszak, Rich Lockwood and Bernie Young for all of their committee work and a huge successful day!
