All-Class reunion a success, says former S-GI employee

Congratulations and thanks are due to the S-GI All Class Reunion Committee, for a job well done. The evening was fun, well planned, and those who I have personally talked to had a wonderful time.
To those of you who served on, or worked on, the committee, many thanks. Though most of you would prefer to stay under the radar, you need to know you did a great job and all of your efforts were appreciated.
If you missed the event, on Friday evening, July 19, 2013, over 500 S-GI alums attended an all-class reunion at Firemanís Park. Members of classes from the 1940s to the 2000s were in attendance.
Food and beverage were available, for a reasonable price, and thanks to the generosity of the raffle winner, the Springville Kiwanis and the Springville Boys & Girls clubs received sizable donations. Attendees received a memento of the evening.
For most, reuniting with classmates and friends was the highlight of the evening. Several past and present faculty members attended and connected with former students.
I was not an alum of S-GI, but I spent 33 wonderful years as a teacher and coach, in the system. I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with former students and athletes.
The committee is hoping to repeat the event yearly and a tentative date of July 18, 2014 has been suggested. Donít be left out next year; put it on the calendar now. Just remember, all of you were a student for a while but, you will be a Griffin forever. See you next year.
