Springville Journal letter to the editor: Flag honoring veterans stolen at Maplewood Cemetery

Editor:
To the party and/or parties who are responsible for the theft of the flag of the United States of America that was proudly being flown at the veterans circle at the Maplewood Cemetery, located on Main Street, Springville, N.Y., we hope that you, at least, will have the decency to fly our flag proudly.

This flag was flying, to honor all of the great veterans who dedicated and risked their lives serving in our fire and military services. Active, retired, deceased and those who served in the past, are all dishonored by your actions.

Unfortunately, vermin like you reap the benefits of the many years of dedicated service the great men and women of the military and fire departments of our country served, for all of us.

The service men and women (for whom this flag was being flown) and our families want our flag back. We want to be able to fly it again, at the top of our flag pole, for all to see.

Return it and there will be no questions asked. The flag may be returned to either the police department or the village office.
