Chris Cerrone is an excellent choice for S-GI school board

As the May 20, Springville-Griffith Institute School Board election approaches, we would like to tell you why we will be voting for Chris Cerrone.

The current board is working hard to make thoughtful decisions that are educationally sound, and Chris would be an outstanding addition to this group.

He supports saving programs that make S-GI a rich and diverse learning environment – from sports, to the arts, to advanced placement and honors courses. He feels strongly about the connection between class size and student learning and will advocate keeping S-GI’s class sizes at reasonable numbers.

Chris has a vast knowledge of education policy and will use that knowledge to fight state and federal mandates that cause educational and financial harm to our district. We can also count on him to fight for fair funding for our district and to alleviate the burden placed on local taxpayers.

Chris is a tireless and articulate advocate for the children of our community and will work hard to ensure that they receive a well-rounded education. He will also work to improve communication and collaboration between all district constituents: students, parents, community and businesses.

Chris Cerrone will stand up for creative and thoughtful solutions to our ever-changing and individual needs, as a district. He understands that our board needs to use what power it has to represent its most important asset: our children. The future of our community – and the greater global community – depends on it.

I agree... Chris would be an excellent addition to the BOE. I would also like to say that this year's BOE has done an excellent job. PLEASE VOTE WISELY - A vote to put one of our dysfunctional members from the past back on the BOE is a step backward for every student and community member in the Springville-GI School District. (VOTE NO - Caimano and Connors)
