Springville Journal letter to the editor: Colden political candidates sought
Monday April 8, 2013 | By:Shirleymarie Sheldon |
The Democratic Committee of the town of Colden is calling for candidates for town elections that will take place in November 2013.
Positions to be decided include town supervisor, town highway superintendent and two positions on the town board.
We are seeking candidates who are committed to bettering the quality of life in the town of Colden and who will work to preserve and promote the sense of community, which makes us one.
Candidates should clearly understand their roles, as well as their duties and responsibility, to all the citizens of our town. They must be willing to work to establish a town government that speaks directly and honestly to its constituents, with the utmost transparency and sharing of information.
Candidates should believe that one of the roles of government is to maintain fiscal accountability, to the public at large and that the ethic of public service must rise above that of self-service.
Any persons who are interested in the endorsement of the committee should phone Shirleymarie Sheldon at 941-3202, by April 30, 2013. Candidate interviews will be scheduled, upon receipt of letter of interest and resume.
