Springville Area Chamber of Commerce Main Street flower project beautified downtown

Editor:
It was a sad chore, taking down the beautiful flower baskets from Main Street early in October, but two consecutive frosty nights brought a quick end to the beautiful blossoms.

The Springville Area Chamber of Commerce (SACC) is proud to coordinate the Main Street flower project and I want to thank the village board for funding the project and entrusting their care to the chamber.

Ethan Waterman of Watermanís Greenhouse chairs the chamberís Main Street flowers committee and supervises the planting, growth and care of the baskets, all summer.

The volunteers, especially this yearís summer intern, Ethan George, did a fantastic job watering, feeding and trimming the flowers seven days a week, to keep them beautiful on even the hottest, driest days.

I also want to thank Zahm & Matson for donating a lawn tractor for the summer and also the Springville First United Methodist Church for providing water and garage storage for the tank and tractor.

The SACC could never coordinate this summer-long project without the generous support and cooperation of the business community, volunteers and village trustees. Thank you, to one and all! We look forward to another colorful Main Street, next year.
