The Boston Fire Company Auxiliary would like to thank all those who attended or donated to our recent home-cooked dinner and theme basket auction. Because of their support and donations, our fundraiser was a great success.
On Sept. 19, the auxiliary held our annual dinner and auction at the fire hall. We served just under 200 people dinner, which included pit ham, parsley potatoes, our renowned roasted butternut squash, Carolynís famed sweet and sour cabbage and pickled beets, fresh garden salad with homemade dressing, penne pasta with homemade sauce and meatballs and our newly added homemade garlic bread. We finished our fabulous home-cooked meal with homemade desserts, baked by our members, along with coffee and lemonade. One of our members, Sue Davis, headed the food preparation and cooking of this delicious meal.
After dinner, we held our theme basket auction. As always, we had an abundance of items for our auction. Most of the businesses and individuals who donated are from the Boston and Springville area. But, many others from surrounding towns also assist us, each year. The auxiliary received themed gift baskets, products and gift certificates for products or services. We are very grateful for the generosity of all those who donated to our auction.
In the past, the auxiliary has been able to help assist the fire company in purchasing much-needed equipment, provide training materials for current and new volunteers and provide other necessary items. And, again this year, the profits from our dinner and auction will help us to contribute to the needs of our firefighters.
Many thanks to all who made our dinner and auction a success.
