Rob Moriarty and Samantha Skura for local trustee seats
Saturday March 8, 2014 | By:Robert and Susan Sorensen |
We live on Main Street, just outside of downtown. We raised our family in Springville, have been active in the school system, the growth of the art center and continue to enjoy everything our community has to offer. We also know that Springville has untapped potential and significant challenges. That is why we’ll be voting for Robert Moriarty and Samantha Skura, for the two open village trustee seats on March 18. Rob and Samantha will bring much-needed energy and new ideas.
We consider our electric company service to be outstanding and its rates low, compared to what others pay, but electricity generation is changing and we need to be prepared for a future that uses less fossil fuel. Rob Moriarty installed solar panels on his roof, by working with the Independent Energy Efficiency Program. He knows firsthand that solar projects and other initiatives must be explored, so that we can save money on our monthly bills, while making Springville more self-sufficient.
We are excited that Rob is running along with Samantha Skura. Samantha is young and full of energy. She and her husband have renovated the second floor of the hardware store and are helping to revive our downtown. We do not have enough young voices in local government. Sam will change that, engage more young people and focus on realizing the potential of our downtown.
We’re voting Moriarty and Skura. We welcome a fresh perspective.
