As we approach the end of March as Red Cross month, I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who helped make out Savor the Flavor – A Taste of Cattaraugus County a success. There is much that goes on behind the scenes that helps us put on this wonderful event, for our community. I am happy to announce that the Red Cross was able to raise over $11,000 for programs and services, right here in Cattaraugus County, because of this event.
I would once again like to thank the following companies that sponsored our event, this year. Our major sponsor, Park Centre Development; platinum sponsors Cutco Foundation, Dresser-Rand Olean and National Grid; silver sponsors Seneca Gaming Corporation and Van Rensselaer and Son Funeral Home; and bronze sponsors Community Bank NA, Dwyer Black & Lyle, LLP, Casella Waste Systems Inc., Casey Halwig & Hartle and Wylier & Associates. Special thanks to Dave Dorson, who provided music for the event.
Our vendors provided wonderful food and beverages this year, for those who attended to sample. We thank Angee’s Restaurant, Cattaraugus Community Action, El Mariachi, Main Street Sweets, Mangia Pizza, Pit Stop Restaurant & Bar, Sanzo’s Beverages, Seneca Allegany Casino, Swatt Baking Co., Top of the Line Catering, Tops Markets, Torrey Family Jams and Bakery, Whole Hog at the Elks and Wrapped in Dough.
Our volunteers were so important to making our event run smoothly. Thank you to Ray Dwaileebe, Cindy Kozlowski, Chelsea Hixenbaugh, Tammy Gardiner, Susie Folts, Ron DeMattio, Colleen Kent, Marion Boyce and Gayle Fusco. Whether it was helping with setup, collecting theme basket auction items, or volunteering at the event, you assisted in putting on a great event! Our appreciation also goes to the Olean Elks Lodge who hosted our event, again this year.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who attended our event. The proceeds of Savor the Flavor – A Taste of Cattaraugus County help our friends and neighbors right here in Cattaraugus County. It could be a family displaced by fire in the middle of the night, or a family needing to contact a member of the Armed Forces, or possibly a community group receiving a free Preparedness Education presentation. All of these services and more are provided thanks to you.
