Jim Jozwiak says thank you to supporters of food drive/light show
Saturday February 9, 2013 | By:Jim Jozwiak |
Christmas is over and we start a new year. Thanks to a nice, warm weekend in January, all of my lights are down and put away, for the year.
Thank you, to Mike Cochran and my junior helper next door, Adam Trautman, for, without their help, I couldn’t have stored away the decorations on those two nice days.
Our community is a great place to live, where you can always count on your neighbor. This year’s food donations that were given to the Springville-Concord Food Pantry and the Trading Post were much needed. We collected 529 food items.
Weighing them out, as some donations sites do, came to a total of 425 pounds. That is almost double of last year’s amount.
I would like to thank, again, the Springville Fire Company, the Springville Lions Club and the Springville Field and Stream and the Springville VFW men’s auxiliary, for helping get the word out, for the food drive.
Thank you, to Ron Rudnicki, for the new fire trucks, Steve Kreitzbender for the new signs and my neighbors, for the patience to get to their houses, because of the extra traffic that comes for the six weeks.
Also, thank you to the Journal, for the cover story and everyone, again, who donated food or just spent time with us, by watching the display.
Already planning more for next year. See you then!
