RAMBLE ON DOWN — The Rustic Ramblers, featuring Gene Hilts on steel guitar (front) will be playing at the Taste of the Southtowns on March 30.
The Taste of the Southtowns will be held on March 30, 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m., at St. Aloysius Hall, a new and bigger location at 190 Franklin St. in Springville. This annual event helps support the work of Gooseneck Hill Waterfowl Sanctuary, so it can continue to grow and add new species. Admission to the event is free with purchase.
Gooseneck Hill, located at 5067 Townline Road in Delevan, N.Y., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This sanctuary boasts the two largest covered aviaries in the world, with 65 species of birds, 25 rock gardens, more than 600 ducks, geese and swans, 2,000 Koi fish and a gift shop. The sanctuary is open July and August, 2-5 p.m. every Sunday, but is open for private tours by appointment by calling 942-6835.

$1.50: white chicken chili, apple cinnamon risotto balls with caramel or chocolate, cornbread, macaroni and cheese, rice pudding, cutout cookie, granola bar (cranberry white chocolate), crazy brownies, apple crisp and cherry crisp.
$2: Southwestern smokey beans, chicken noodle soup, cheesecake (plain or peanut butter), blueberry cream pie, frog leg veg soup.
$2.50: elk chili, Buffalo chicken wing soup, peanut butter dream pie, fried ice cream, cupcakes, baklava.
$3: Asian BBQ pork belly, Mikeska sausage, lazy pierogi, braised chicken breast/vegetable saute, turkey sliders.
$3.50: bacon-wrapped shrimp with jalapeno orange glaze, prime rib chowder soup, chicken salad wheat wrap, Philly cheesesteak.
$4: Beef on Weck, chicken and chorizo spring rolls with mango chipotle sauce, pulled pork, ribs, Mama’s meatloaf and gravy, parmesan-crusted grilled chicken, chicken Tuscany salad, open chicken Souvlaki, prime rib, filet mignon sliders with onion cheese sauce.
If the above food items aren’t enough to convince you to attend, there will be 50 fantastic baskets and you do not have to be present to win. Also, there is a great silent auction.
