St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church will hold its chicken dinner and lawn fete event on Saturday, July 29, from 5-11 p.m. and Sunday, July 20, from 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturday evening casino fun night will be held in the air-conditioned parish hall. Music will be from 5-7 p.m. by the Middle Road Misfits, a local fiddlers’ group, and from 7-11 p.m. by the popular 90 West Band. There will be food, beer and beverages available at the hall. Those attending may enjoy the gambling raffles and outdoor bingo, hourly 50/50, theme basket preview and a grand money raffle with a value of $3,000 in prizes, and the bell jar.
Events on Sunday include the famous chicken barbecue dinner, which will be buffet-style, along with homemade desserts in the air-conditioned hall. Adult’s dinners are $9.50 and children’s dinners are $6. Take-outs will also be available. Dinners will be served from 11:30 a.m. and extend to 3 p.m., or until sold out.
Also on Sunday, there will be a grand money raffle, with $3,000 in prizes, and bell jar sales and gambling.
Kids can enjoy the many outdoor games. There will be outdoor bingo, a theme basket auction, craft booth, grocery booth, baked goods, grab bags, antique classic car show on the front lawn facing Main Street. This is open to the public to bring their treasured vehicle. Prizes will be awarded.
Winners of the money raffle will be drawn, as well as the multitude of theme basket raffled items, around 4 p.m. on the St. Aloysius Church grounds, located at 190 Franklin Street, off Route 39, at the corner of Academy Street in Springville.
