SPRINGVILLE — Car dealership Emerling Ford has existed in Western New York for more than 25 years. Emerling Ford opened its doors in Springville in 1986 and has been providing service to the community, ever since.
President and owner Carl Emerling has been in the car business for many years and said that his father showed him what it took, to run a business. “My father started by selling Massey-Fergusson farm equipment and, in 1944, he became a fully-franchised Chevrolet dealer,” Emerling said. “I grew up in and around the dealership and it was through my father, how I learned what it took to do business, in this great community.”
Emerling Ford attracts customers from all over Western New York, with its customer service and many options.
Despite servicing a large region, Emerling said that he believes that there is something special about being located in Springville. “As much as I love the car business, it simply wouldn’t be the same, without the small-town feel that you get from Springville,” he said. “It’s just very nice to actually see a community that takes care of each other.”
Emerling Ford’s inventory is stocked with many different Ford models.
Emerling said that right now is a good time to be in the Ford business. “Ever since Ford didn’t take the government bailout, the products have improved and people’s confidence in the brand has skyrocketed,” he said.
Emerling Ford’s stated, No. 1 priority, is customer satisfaction. One of its slogans reads, “Specializing in satisfied customers!” Emerling said that the business’s goal is to provide customer service that is second to none, and to make customers’ experiences with Emerling Ford the best. “We try to make everything we do all about the customer,” Emerling said, about his staff members’ focus. “There’s no way you’re going to make every customer happy, but the least we can do is give a complete effort to make those customers happy.”
Emerling Ford employs 75 people at its Springville location, at 150 South Cascade Drive. The company’s Springville structure is made up of 11 departments, including accessories, the collision center, Quick Lane, finance, fleet, Internet, new vehicles, used vehicles, parts, sales and service.
Many of the employees at Emerling Ford have been with the company for several years. Emerling said that he is pleased with his employees’ dedication.
“I’m really proud of the fact that 48 of our employees have been with us for 10 years or longer,” he said. “That’s something not a lot of dealerships can say. The commitment and dedication our staff shows for the customer is unparalleled.”
Emerling Ford has been recognized, in recent years, for its customer service. The business has consistently received top awards, in the car dealership industry.
Emerling has received the President’s Award by Ford Motor Company, during each of the last 16 years. “The award is given out to less than 5 percent of all dealers in the nation,” Emerling said.
“This award is entirely driven by our customer satisfaction numbers. Winning it once was quite an honor, so to think that we’ve now done it 16 years in a row, is surreal.”
Emerling Ford is always running specials, with a stated goal of keeping its customers satisfied.
According to Emerling, the business attempts to give its customers multiple options, when it comes to making their car-buying decisions.
Despite winning the aforementioned award, during the past 16 years, Emerling said that his company will continue to look to improve, in any way possible. “Any business that doesn’t strive to be the best that they can possibly be should really reconsider why they’re in the business,” he said. “It’s our goal to get even better, in the next few years. We look forward to expanding and updating our dealership in the next few years. Our dealership may eventually look different, but our devotion and hard work for the customer will always be there.”
