SPRINGVILLE — International nutritional supplement store General Nutrition Centers Inc. opened its doors to the Springville community on Dec. 20. Nestled between Dollar Tree and The Shoe Department, GNC welcomes customers from all over Western New York to partake of its numerous health, exercise and weight loss offerings.
“Knowing the demographic, I think that this was the perfect spot, for everyone here,” said Manager Anna Holmes of Freedom.
Because the next closest GNC stores are located inside the McKinley Mall and Southgate Plaza, Holmes said the new Springville location has reduced the commute for Franklinville, Gowanda, West Valley, Arcade and Springville customers. The Springville Rite Aid features a GNC section, but the South Cascade store offers customers a full range of products.
GNC stocks a variety of vitamins, herbs, nutritional remedies, protein powders, weight-lifting supplements, diet products and other items.
LIVE WELL — Springville’s newest store, GNC, allows customers to peruse a variety of nutritional supplements, including vitamins, herbs, natural remedies, protein powders, weight-lifting supplements and diet products.
The store offers vitamins for men and women, including daily supplements and Vitapaks®, combinations of vitamins that are tailored for specific needs. These vitamin systems come in 30-day supplies. According to Holmes, customers receive a complete day’s worth of supplements, without having to purchase many different products.
A variety of natural remedies, including holistic items, oils and natural shampoos, face creams and soaps, are on hand, for those interested in alternative offerings.
For those looking to lose weight and stay healthy, GNC stocks meal replacements, thermogenics – which help burn fat – and water pills.
A variety of weight-lifting supplements, including whey protein, protein powders, pre- and post-workout powders and capsules, muscle-gainers and testosterone boosters, also line the store shelves. The powders are available in various sizes, from 1-pound bags to 5-pound tubs and the pills come in 60 – 180-packs.
GNC also stocks Quest Bars™, KIND© products, Atkins© bars and other diet or weight-lifting supplements.
“There are a lot of products and we are trained to help build our customers’ programs, to the best of our abilities,” Holmes said, about her and the two store sale associates. “We could build a program to suit anyone’s needs. We ask customers a lot of lifestyle questions, to make sure we’re taking the right steps.”
GNC is offering customers a free gold card with a purchase, through Jan. 20. This membership program, which normally has a yearly fee, provides cardholders 10 – 50 percent off all items in the store. Gold cards are good at any GNC location and the store honors existing members.
GNC is located at 231 South Cascade Drive in Springville. Holmes welcomed interested customers to call with questions at any time, or stop into the store.
