SPRINGVILLE — Spring Creek Athletic Club has added a new diagnostic and treatment center for sleep disorders to its facilities in Springville.
Five years in the making, the Springville Sleep Center has partnered with management company National Sleep Services, to offer a local option for those facing a range of sleep issues.
“The Springville Sleep Center will fill a niche market for everyone who wants the convenience of having their sleep needs attended to locally, without traveling north toward Buffalo,” said Gary Wannamacher, owner of SCAC.
“The addition of the Springville Sleep Center in the village of Springville will service the southern portion of Erie County,” added Wannamacher, “which will include the greater Springville area and west, to cover Gowanda and surrounding areas. [It] also will support the eastern portion of the county toward Arcade. We anticipate reaching as far south as Great Valley.”
FLEUR DE SLEEP — The Springville Sleep Center hosts two patient rooms outfitted with queen-sized beds and 32-inch flat screen TVs.
A representative for NSS explained that the Springville lab is equipped to diagnose and treat a “full spectrum” of sleep problems.
She explained that anybody that has any issues, whether it be snoring, restless sleep or insomnia could indicate a deeper issue.
The representative also explained that sleep disorders are linked to many health conditions, including heart disease and diabetes.
The lab is headed by a board-certified sleep physician. A board-certified cardiologist is on staff, and the facilities are outfitted with “state-of-the-art equipment.”
To create a more “home-like atmosphere,” each of the lab’s two testing rooms are equipped with a queen-sized bed and a 32-inch flat screen television, according to the representative.
Patients will also have access to the athletic center for exercise and showers, after their stay.
“We plan to work closely with the hospital and local doctors to offer a convenient, inviting location for them to send their sleep patients,” said Wannamacher.

Aside from a shorter drive for some residents, the SCAC owner said Springville should see benefits from having a sleep center in town.
“Having the Springville Sleep Center here will bring more people from the surrounding communities to the village of Springville,” he added. “By bringing these people to our community, they will see that Springville has many offerings, such as shopping, fine restaurants and specialty shops.”
Patients will need a doctor’s referral to visit the lab. Springville Sleep Center will accept all major insurance.
Springville Sleep Center is located at 535 West Main Street in Springville.
