COLLINS — The first order of business at the Nov. 18 meeting of the Collins Town Council was a motion from Supervisor Dave Tessmer that Janet Vogtli had just been elected to the council and member Rob Gaylord had just resigned, leaving a vacancy. He recommended that Vogtli be appointed to fill Gaylord’s position, until her own term begins in January. With four council persons voting, the vote did not get a majority, since Ken Martin and Mary Stelley voted against.
Most of the meeting consisted of discussing goals and strategies for the upgrading of codes and policies, regarding the transfer station, town subdivision and zoning codes.
Since Christmas and New Year’s Day will both fall on a Wednesday, the transfer station will be open on the following Thursdays, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2. The next trash day will be on Sat., Nov. 30.The next regular meeting of the Collins Town Board will be on Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Collins Town Hall.
